One of the pioneers of the modern dance music scene, Josh got his start in the early 1990s, making musical history in his hometown of Philadelphia. His signature house sound inspired a generation, and Josh has been on the forefront of every musical movement in the club scene since then. Q: What are the age restrictions at Space?
A: Space's age restriction is 21 years of age and older, unless our venue is rented out by a third-party promoter, which in that case, the age restriction may differ. Please check this site for specifics.

Q: Do you guys have a dress code?
A: Yes, we do. In general we do not allow shorts, oversized t-shirts, hats of any kind, baggy clothes, worn/dirty sneakers, sandals, or any open shoes in general. The best guideline is to "dress like you are going to a nightclub". Entry is of course at the discretion of our door staff and security.

Q: Do you guys offer a guestlist for entry to the venue?
A: On occasion we do, and we will post details here on the site for signup info.

Q: Where can I purchase presale tickets for your events?
A: You can purchase them at http://space.wantickets.com/ - We recommend presale ticket purchase for all of our events for guaranteed.

Q: I lost a personal item at the club, what can I do?
A: Call our office at 305-372-9378 from 11 AM - 4 PM Monday through Friday and ask about Lost and Found.

I’m not the only DJ who can do this, but doing this in the States for 15 hours, I only know one person who used to do it and that was [Danny] Tenaglia. But the first time I played on the Space Terrace I was scared because it was owned by other DJs, you know? And I really worked hard for it to be where it is now and I really appreciate that the people are giving back. It’s a mixture of people from the States, Canada, South America, Europe, and it’s great to see that this can happen in the United States, which is a totally different market for us. The sound system is great, the owner is super, the security—no stress, no nothing. And you just keep going 15 hours for the people and the people are having fun with you. It’s just great.

A Message From Louis Puig

On Saturday night Downtown Miami was the scene of yet another unconscionable crime against it's citizens and visitors. A young gentleman by the name of Brandon Marquis McGhee was brutally shot and killed within the walls of the nightclub Nocturnal, and seven more were injured in the crossfire which end result was the death of yet another one of Miami-Dade County's young citizens.

For years, the Downtown Entertainment District has been the location of some of the most rapid growth in the country. Nightclubs, restaurants, and lounges have sprung up in this once-destitute area to help lay the foundations for condos and office buildings. Unfortunately over the past few years, less than honest businesspeople have chosen to set up shop in this neighborhood, and unfortunately this list includes the nightclub Nocturnal.

Since it's inception, Nocturnal has been built on a sham. Unpaid construction loans, numerous tax liens, several foreclosures and other underhanded maneuvering have resulted in a business that has become a pox on the district. As a result of these indiscretions, Nocturnal has built up a substantial financial burden, which has led to financial and operational cut backs. Most notably, Nocturnal's security apparatus is the most lax in all of South Florida, leading to this business allowing anyone with the requisite money in their pockets admission into their venue, regardless of threat level.

Last night, Nocturnal's greed and desperation finally caught up with them, leading to the murder of Mr. McGhee, and the injury of many of the venue's patrons, which has become the most egregious assault within a Miami nightclub property in decades. Unfortunately this situation could have been avoided. Other entertainment venues in the area, such as Club Space, institute stringent security measures working closely with NET (Neighborhoods Enhancement Team), MEDA (Miami Entertainment District) and the Miami Police Department to secure the safety of its patrons and our streets. Nocturnal, in their greed and desperation, chooses to ignore the tenets of common human decency, and allows their venue to be compromised by individuals bent on mayhem and destruction.

As the pioneer of the Parkwest Entertainment District and the owner of Club Space, I must recommend that Nocturnal's permits to operate be revoked and that the venue be closed immediately. I warned Nocturnal's owner Glenn Koffman that someone would get killed if Nocturnal kept hosting "gangster" parties. I honestly feel drastic measures are needed at this point in order to guarantee the safety and security of our neighborhood, residents and patrons. We cannot abide by those who choose to flout the laws of our city, state, and nation, as well as the guidelines of common human decency just to turn a penny.

Nocturnal and Glenn Koffman, this is not a threat, but a declaration. We will not stand by while you keep endangering honest lives and desecrating the area which we and others have toiled so much to build and improve. Our status as decent citizens and human beings will not permit it. It is time you closed shop and exit this neighborhood before you place any more lives at risk.

The Summer at Space Closing Parties This Weekend!

What a summer it has been for the Space Family! We started things off with a bang with our friends Chus + Ceballos taking to the decks on the Terrace for what proved to be an epic marathon, getting the Miami crowds warmed up for the Summer at Space! We followed it up with visits from David Tort, Thomas Gold (who made a positively stunning Space debut!), Kurd Maverick, as well as stellar performances from our residents and locals, including Patrick M, Louis Puig, Lazardi, the Cocodrills, and many more. And who could forget the seventh annual IndepenDANCE Music Week, where we welcomed Erick Morillo, Boris, Markus Schulz, Laidback Luke, Sasha, Luccio, and TKO to the decks for a non-stop marathon of some of the most amazing music in the world!

Not to mention in the past two weeks, where we've welcomed back Miami legend Oscar G, following that up the week after with the annual Space Loves Colombia party, where Miami locals and Colombia's finest DJs such as Electronic Drums, DJ Wady, Armand Peña, Lazardi, and many others kept the crowd dancing until the afternoon hours. Where else but Space can this happen? For over a decade now we've been honored to bring you all the best DJ talent in the world every weekend!

Of course, we have our inspirations, and with those inspirations we look to the core of global dance music, the White Isle itself, Ibiza. Much like Space, Ibiza is a non-stop party for the entire summer, with the world's best DJs taking to the decks for extended marathon sets all day and all night long. One long-standing tradition on the island is, of course, the closing parties. Each and every season, the Ibiza clubs throw one last outrageous bash, capping off an intense season of clubbing.

Here at Space, we have taken to doing that too with a closing party of our own. We bid farewell to an intense summer season, and pause to allow our wonderful staff to take some time off to relax, re-energize, and recuperate for the upcoming fall events. This Labor Day Weekend, we will be closing off the Summer at Space with a bang! Kicking things off on Saturday September 3rd will be performances by NYC's own Boris, as well as Space resident Louis Puig on the Terrace. In the Techno Loft, we're proud to welcome back Sweden's own Ida Engberg, as well as Matthias Tanzmann for an evening and morning of cutting-edge techno, house, and everything in between! And if that was not enough, on Sunday September 4th, we're proud to welcome back Loco Dice, along with Argentine sensation Guti to the Terrace for what will be an epic marathon lasting well into Monday afternoon. In addition, we heard the wishes of our customers loud and clear over the IndepenDANCE weekend, and we're bringing back Markus Schulz along with a surprise special guest for an encore performance in the Main Room.

The Summer at Space could not have been a success without our customers' fierce and loyal dedication. And for that we thank you all once again. No club in the world has a fanbase like you guys, and we're proud and excited to present these closing parties to you. Every year for the past three years, we're proud to help celebrate the independence of our friends to the south in Colombia. Lately, between the US independence parties, and the Colombian independence parties, we're tempted to call July "Independence Month"!

This weekend, Space presents the fourth annual Space Loves Colombia! What has now become a yearly tradition, Space pulls out all the stops and celebrates for Colombia this Saturday night! We've got some of Miami's and Colombia's finest on tap this weekend, with sounds by Louis Puig, DJ Wady, Lazardi, Armand Peña, Ivan D, Alex Poxada and Electronic Drums, on the Terrace. Of course, the Techno Loft crew will be celebrating with sounds by Dsan Powell, Maurizio + Danyelino, Juan Arenas, and Thunderpony.

Rounding things out will be Radamas and GQ in The Ballroom!

We're also glad to welcome our industry friends this Sunday Morning with complmentary entry and open bar from 4 - 7 AM! Business card or pay stub required to participate...

The Return of Oscar G!

Those who know, know. Oscar G is a Miami legend. As one of the original residents of Space, he helped define the Downtown scene with his mind-bending marathons in the old Blue Room, and continued the tradition at Space in it's current incarnation for many years after that. As part of the award-winning duo Murk, Oscar's tracks have been on the top of the charts consistently for over two decades now, and even making their way into mainstream radio, movies, and TV.

And this weekend, we welcome him home. Oscar takes to the decks this Saturday evening on The Terrace, promising a night of Space Classics and beyond!

Take Me To Space Winner Finalists Declared! (in Alphabetical order) Original Track Contest

Back over the summer, the Space crew and Stereo Productions, label home of DJ Chus, issued a challenge to all talented DJs and producers... "make a track in honor of the ten years of Space & ten years in Stereo." The winner would receive a grand prize of $5000 and the track would be exclusive released at Beatport.com along with 2 runner ups.

The contest received a massive response and enthusiastic participation from all over the world, It was a long and grueling process, but finally the finalists have been declared. The winning track will have it's debut in Wednesday 6th october, coincidentally enough with the debut of the all-newly remodeled Club Space on Saturday, October 9th.

Space Cares - Haitian Relief Effort.

Recently, Space donated time, money, and effort to get a team of doctors down to Haiti to assist in the relief efforts for the earthquake that struck the country in January of 2010.

This team of doctors assisted some of the most unfortunate victims of this tragedy, including a large number of young children, many of whom lost their families and their parents in this tragedy.

This represents an ongoing dedication on the part of Space to the local Haitian community in their relief efforts for their homeland, and our dedication to charitable causes around the world.

The Techno Loft welcomes Nick Curly to the decks for his first-ever appearance at Space Miami.

One of the rising stars of the German techno scene, Nick had a banner year in 2008. Not content with simply making great music, as the owner of the Cecille and 8Bit labels, Nick has developed a talent as a taste-maker and overseen an amazing year for his labels as releases from the likes of Johnny D, SiS, Markus Fix, Robert Dietz, Lemos and Kreon have propelled many of these artists on to the global stage.
