An internationally known nightlife icon and resident DJ of Club Space in Miami, Louis Puig, a.k.a. "LP", has
been in the industry for over thirty years.
LP began his career in 1976 and has worked as a nightclub owner, operator, promoter, designer,
contractor, builder, sound and lighting engineer and DJ. Puig has designed, created, operated and
owned some of the most successful cubs in South Florida and is considered to be an innovator within
the nightclub industry for his work in creating The Parkwest Entertainment District and Club Space in
Downtown Miami.
A once uninhabited and desolate slum area, Parkwest now resonates with nightlife,
soaring skyscraper condos, office buildings, restaurants, nightclubs, and the world famous American
Airlines Arena, home to the Miami Heat. Thanks to Puig's foundations, Parkwest real estate
increased from $30 to $200 a foot in just 5 years. For his entrepreneurial efforts in helping to create
economic revitalization to Downtown Miami, the City of Miami proclaimed October 14th as “LOUIS
PUIG DAY. Normally an honor given to politicians and civic leaders, Puig was the first nightclub businessperson to be awarded this distinction.
Club Space has broken attendance and sales records for Nightclubs in the US and has won various awards for being "The Best Dance Club in the World”. In 2011 Club Space once again won Best Dance Club in the
US and is celebrating 11 years in business, a record for nightclubs all over the world. In the past decade
Puig also helped produce the Ultra Music Festival and the Global Gathering Music Festival, in addition
to developing megaclubs, including Spirits at the Hard Rock Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, and the historic
Cameo Theatre on South Beach.
In addition, he has also been instrumental in the creation of the world famous Surfcomber Pool Parties, which are now in their seventh year, as well as the Swedish House Mafia’s Masquerade Halloween and One Night Stand Ocean Drive Events, which rank as some of the most successful outdoor events for the entire Miami nightclub season.
Puig currently works and resides in Miami Beach, Florida and travels all over the world in furtherance of his DJ career, as well as working as a consultant for the nightclub and entertainment industry.
